problem with mirroring of y axis label

I was wondering if someone could help me with the problem I am having.
Whenever I plot something, for some reason matlab mirrors the y axis label and I have no idea why. I also noticed that when I save the plot as a picture the y axis label just becomes "1"?
This happens everytime I plot so I am thinking it is a problem with settings or something?
Thanks!
