Image registration of two different imaging moralities

Hi everyone,
Is there any possibility to register 3D images( CT images) with microscopic images (2D images)?

Hi,
I want to validate pore size between struts.I have CT images from struts and microscopic images from the same strut, the first think that i have problem is that these two images are not comparable in spatial resolution aspect the CT images are not in the same level of spatial reslution of microscopic image. and secound is there any possibility to interpolate these two images (despite the spatial resolution diffrence) and then register them?
thank you for your time.

You cannot alter spatial resolution by interpolation... If you mean you want the images to have the same sized pixels and voxels, there is no need to do that as a prior step to registration. Regstration operations take the differences in sampling in the two images into account.

That sounds like a very unusual registration problem, but if you have a model that relates the CT image to the microscopy image, you could always use ga or one of the Optimization Toolbox solvers.
