plot of a fucntion with four variables

I have a function say x3d(x1,x2,x3), here x1(1:50), x2(1:50), x3(1:50) and x3d(1:50,1:50,1:50) is in form of matrix. I am unable to plot the fucntion x3d can anybody help me here to plot this fucntion.

Sure. As long as you buy a 4 dimensional holographic monitor, we can proceed. I think Starfleet Command can supply them, but the shipping time tends to be long because the package must come from the future. Mine is currently broken, of course, and I am still waiting for parts to arrive. I wonder if using Klingon Parcel Service was a bad idea? Those Klingon package handlers are so rough with packages anyway. Next time I'll try BPS (the Borg will be so much more efficient too.) The problem is, I'm not sure I want to tell the Borg my home address. Drat. ;-)

Seriously. You cannot view 4 dimensional data easily, certainly not so on a 2-dimensional monitor. At best you can use tools like isosurfaces to look at what happens inside.

You can also use tools like Cherneff faces, but they tend to be difficult to visualize without practice, IMHO.

I agreed with you its difficult to visuallize 3D data on 2D monitor screen but there are many tools which can be used to visualize 3D data on our's monitor screen. One way that i am considering plotting my data in form of 3D contour's plot where the height of the contour's manages third variable of the data and colours defines the height. This can be done easily on other softwares like in mathematica but i want to do it in matlab. I hope there may exist such type of tool in matlab as well. @John D'Errico

Then have a look on the file exchange, there are a number of neat volumetric visualization tools available. If nothing appeals to you, you can start off with slice, and when combined with alpha-mapping it can be used with some success.
