I was using MATLAB and then had an error with my desktop and had to turn the computer off, I think I made the mistake of not closing MATLAB when I did this although the file I was working on was saved.
Now when I try to load up MATLAB either by clicking on it or trying to open a MATLAB file MATLAB will not load, you just see the icon indicating loading for a second and afterwards nothing happens, I don't want to just uninstall and re-install MATLAB as I feel like the problem will persist.

If I uninstall and re-install, I assume nothing strange will happen to my saved MATLAB files and that I can open them once more when I have MATLAB back up and running ie. uninstalling won't remove any files or potentially corrupt anything?

It should not, though if you used the setpath button to set up a special path somewhere, like s special folder where you have stored custom utilities you have written, then you will have to set up those folders again with the setpath button.

Hi,
Please try uninstall and re-installing the software. Just like the comment https://in.mathworks.com/matlabcentral/answers/453535-matlab-won-t-load#comment_688207 says uninstalling won't possibly remove or corrupt files unless you have used setpath to store custom utilities.
Thanks
