Hello, I need your very helps on Normalizing my background for this kind of images: http://postimage.org/image/w1n2p1iq3/ There are dark areas on edges. I need to normalize them.Because i will colormap objects on image. Would you please help me on it? The simple background subtraction method described in help is not working. Sincerely, Abarairenji

I do background correction all the time. But what you do depends on how you define background. Is the whole image your background? Usually you do division of your test image by the background, but there are situations (fluorescence, radiology) where you do subtraction, or other situations (like dynamic scene analysis of street scenes) where you do something different (mode, GMM, etc.).
I'm not sure what you mean by "normalize" since there are different definitions for that - what's yours? And why do you think you need to normalize the background? Why isn't background correction of your "test" images enough?
And since this doesn't really look like a background image, I'd like to ask if this is an image where you have both background and foreground in the same image? So that the background is just part of the image and not the whole image. If so, you'd need to find the background and then try to model/estimate it everywhere (like what it would be in the location of the foreground pixels).
