yes i had to translate it and use intermediate value theorem to solve it

So i have been really week at math and its been a few hours trying to understand and finding answers to this equation so here is the full question
Use the Intermediate Value Theorem to determine whether each of the following equations has at least one solution in the given intervals. write the appropriate commands to solve the problem.
