system level modeling of receiver front end

Hi, I am new to radio technology and Matlab. Can any one please provide suggestions or tutorial on how to find block level specifications of receiver front end by doing system level simulations using matlab. Receiver is intended to operate only in bandwidth(3GHz-5GHz).
