I have an image, and I have extracted the region of interest (ROI). This ROI have bilateral symmetry shape. How can I get the bilateral symmetry axis for it?

Maybe as follows.
fa=@(X) norm(X(:) - reshape(flipud(X),[],1) );
fb=@(theta) fa(imrotate(TheROI,-theta));
AngleOfAxis = fminsearch(fb,0)
