Numbering an edit box

My group and I have put together a GUI that searches PubMed and lists the titles below. For the results, we are wondering if there is a way to number the titles. This is to make it work better with an image that pops up in correlation.
So we want:
1. PTEN:...
2. ...
3. ...
4. ...
We are currently using an edit box for the results because it has a scroll bar.
Any direction would be helpful, and if you need more information, just let me know.

And even with gmail account: It is not a good idea to post a https link with a session ID. Many trojans and virusses try to steal such session IDs, such that I'd hesitate to publish it.

Let T be your current cell array of strings that are the titles. Then
NT = arrayfun(@(K) sprintf('%d. %s', K, T{K}), 1:length(K), 'Uniform', 0);
will be the new numbered version of it that you can then set() as the String parameter of the edit box.
There is no option for uicontrol of style editbox to automatically number lines.
