Measuring distances and areas from Images

Hello! I am a novel user of Matlab.How can i get the distances measured from an Image (not vertical) be the same with those measured on the actual ground? Which corrections i can apply using Matlab to achieve this, if possible? Pls guide me through.

You need the camera's calibration matrix and the lens distortion function. This is a broad subject and it is unlikely that anyone would guide you through it on this forum.
