Is there a tutorial for exporting a Simulink Model to C++ for running in an external real time simulation?

I have been given a simulink model that needs to be export to C++ such that the C++ version of the model can be run in our real-time simulation environment. Is there a tutorial or guide out there for doing such a thing. The code that I'm producing with Simulink Coder doesn't look usable. How does one get a simulink model running externally in a different real time executable?
