Parameter Estimation in Computer Vision

I have a question related to my project

How i can do the Detection and parameter estimation of flat surface, pits, holes, circular poles, and curbstones from sensor data. I am using 3d laser camera

can we extract frames from Vision video object and covert them to images so that other image operations can be carried out on them.As of now,I am able to read frame using step command but I am not able to apply image operations like imshow etc in loop.I can play thee video object using Video player but I want to show this video in GUI so need to convert videos into frames and then display them in GUI using imshow in loop.Can you help me with this?

You can use the getsnapshot() function. Have you used imaqtool? It has a history window so you can see the code for the operations you do.
