How do I recover accidentally erased portions of an answer or comment?

Not sure what I'm doing to cause the disappearance. However it is happening often enough to make me want to ...aaarrrggghhh

Greg, sorry for the trouble. Can you reproduce this or is it seemingly random? Can you describe what happens--for example, does text that you type in the answer/comment box disappear after you click save, or while you're still typing?

I'm sure it is something that fumblefingers (i.e.,me) is doing. For example, quite often I find myself trying to type in the preview box. Then a combination of keystokes and/or mouse clicks causes strange results.

Whoops! I just hit enter when the cursor was in the preview box. It automatically posted the last comment. If I hit the space bar when the cursor is in preview it causes the page to scroll.

So, I think what happened is that the cursor was in the preview box, then I hit the spacebar along with a mouse click or two and/or a few keystrokes. Not sure which ones because I thought I was typing in the Answers box.

I could put the cursor in preview and sequentially hit every key to see what happens but I'm too lazy and I think the problem is caused by more than just one keystroke.

Given my proclivity for doing this, I am frantically looking for the magic recovery key ... something like control-z when in the m-file edit mode.

Many many people use Lazarus: http://dottech.org/16800/lazarus-a-must-have-form-recovery-add-on-for-firefox-and-chrome/ It has saved me so many times when I went to grab my mouse (after typing) and accidentally hit the "Back" button on my mouse.

On my Firefox/Win7 machine, usually deleted text can be reconstructed by Ctrl-Z. Even when I click on a link by accident, the Back button restores the formerly written text.
