Simulink with an External-Realtime signal.

Hello everyone. I'm new to the forum and to simulink, so, please, be patient. I'm curently studying Control theory using a PLC to control a water's tank level. Thus, is there a way to an external and real time signal direct in Simulink using COM or TCP-IP ethernet ? Thank you in advance, please, forgive my bad english. Best regards, Leonardo.
