Multiple surface plots in one figure using a color map and axial distance

Hi all

I have an idea about plotting experimental results in my head and have no idea if it can be realized.

The experiments delivers 120x120 point profiles per measurement point (can be easily plotted using surf). Those results come vary depending on a specified distance to the measurement location. What I would like to do is the follwing:

draw 4 surface plots that have the same centre (x,y)=0, but a different axial position (z). The scale should be shown as a color map.

Do you have any ideas?
