datenum does not give monotonically increasing result

datenum('12-5-2010 23:55:00','dd-MM-yyyy HH:mm:ss')

ans =

7.3579e+05

datenum('13-5-2010 00:00:00','dd-MM-yyyy HH:mm:ss')

ans =

7.3412e+05

How comes that 12-5 < 13-5????

Anyone can help me?
