how to conver image matrix into bipolar values

hi
im fairly new to matlab no idea what im doing
i have set of images that i have to convert into bipolar values, and all i can find is binary
i also tried hardlims() but it turns the matrix into 1s only
ALSO
how do i upload all the images at once?
i can only do it one at a time

What exactly do you mean by converting images into bipolar values?

Bipolar Values, considering two data value only (Same number with Positive & Negative)
bw_image=%Convert to binary image
image_data=double(bw_image);
image_data(image_data==0)=-1;
In the resultant image, there are only two pixels elements +1 and -1
or Are you looking for more data type?
