How do I select a 3D point within a meshed PLY filetype figure and receive its x,y, and z coordinates?

I have a 3D Rendered Meshing or Image that I have generated from a PLY file using ply_display from File exchange. I am now trying to select a point on the surface of the meshing and receive its x,y,z coordinates. How can this be done?
