Wavelet analysis of a vibration signal

Hi all,
I'm trying to write a code to perform analysis of a vibration signal using wavelet techniques, with the end goal being to output an amplitude-frequency plot, or 3D time-frequency-amplitude plot. I've done a lot of reading on the topic and understand a decent amount of the theory, but I'm having trouble implementing it in a successful code. Is anybody familiar with this type of task and able to give me a basic run-down of the steps I should take? I've been through all of the Wavelet Toolbox tutorials but none are particularly helpful. Thanks in advance, Zac.

http://www.mathworks.com/help/wavelet/examples/multivariate-wavelet-denoising.html should be helpful. Is there a specific question you had about what function to use? It would be great to have an idea of what you've already tried.
