Recognising external webcam with Mac OS X Snow leopard

I would be VERY grateful if anyone who has figured out how to connect MATLAB to an external webcam were to share their solution with me. Mine defaults to the built in Mac camera isight but I need to use a logitech webcam instead. Many thanks.
