I prefer to do it from MATLAB, from there I can make graphs and load the data directly, plus I find it harder to set up VS Code.
I prefer the MATLAB Editor because of its syntax highlighting, code analysis, debugging tools, and seamless integration with the Command Window. For model-based design, Simulink's graphical environment is excellent, especially when combined with MATLAB scripts for automation.
I'm not a programmer. I don't care about Python or Java or C. What I want is a decent hammer, or wrench, or whatever to take data or model something or make sense of the data. That's all folks.
I find myself using VS Code more and more frequently, mainly because it offers numerous AI features. Although MATLAB Copilot can be used within the MATLAB editor, I feel its level of intelligence is not quite high enough.
I write code for .mlapp file. There is no other choise . So the poll does not concern me .
While there's much not as would prefer, the integration with debugger makes the builtin about the only choice unless doing something specific that it just can't -- column/block selections, say.
I think we need polls where you can choose multiple options :)
For me, it's all about context. Sometimes I prefer MATLAB Editor, other time VS Code or Jupyter. Sometimes, the 'best' editor is vi even
Since I can only choose one, however, I went 'MATLAB editor'
