This Live Script applies image processing methods to study an image of a Cologne Cathdral window designed by Gerhard Richter, a window containing panes of many colors. As is often the case with real world images, object segmentation and color characterization are quite challenging. The script also illustrates how to make digital images similar to Richter's color panel paintings which might serve as prototypes for further color image analysis exploration.
This script may interest students and instructors with an artistic bent who are interested in exploring image processing tools. 'Try this' suggestions and 'Challenges' are included for further exploration.
