ConeCutter is a MATLAB app and associated source code
Make the Animated GIF. Pass it on
Cone is wireframe with more wires than rendered
Plane cuts cone and makes conics in an interactive 3-D manner
Gouroud lighting switch
Conics not computed or rendered when plane rotated
Slicing calculations are based on y = mx + b equations for wireframe
Non-interactive 2-D flat projection plot of conic also provided
Conic type identified. Parabolas identified with approximate test
Fun, simple to use, interactive, informative, multiple moving parts
Appeals to sensory intellect and analysis
It's a toy, not a game that is played
