Variable Neighborhood Search (VNS) is a metaheuristic optimization algorithm introduced by Mladenović and Hansen in 1997. It is designed to solve combinatorial and continuous optimization problems efficiently by exploring different neighborhoods around the current solution. The algorithm alternates between two main phases: local search and perturbation.
