This is the second version of a function, called FCO2v2, which calculates the CO2 flux at the air-sea interface. The first version was developed by Chapa Balcorta in 2015. This new version accounts for temperatures ranging from -2 to 40°C.
Syntax:
[F_CO2, dpCO2, KCO2] = FCO2v2(pCO2_water, xCO2_atm, SST, SSS, wind);
Input:
- pCO2_water: the pCO2 of seawater
- xCO2_atm: the pCO2 of the atmosphere
- SST: the sea surface temperature
- SSS: the sea surface salinity
- wind: the wind speed at 10 metres above the sea surface
Output:
- CO2 flux= F_CO2 in mmol m⁻² d⁻¹
- dpCO2 = the gradient of pCO2 between the water and the atmosphere
- KCO2= the solubility constant of CO2.
