Lissajous figures are generated when the periodic frequency of the x coordinate and the periodic frequency of the y coordinate make a simple integer ratio. With a Graphical User Interface (hand coded) you can enter the parameters to generate a figure. The parametrization is given in the plot title, and the x and y labels update to reflect the parameters of the current plot.
By selecting a check box you may turn on a feature that also plots the derivative of the parametric curve. A single point on each the Lissajous figure and a second point on its derivative curve are highlighted based upon the value of the curve parameter allowing for correlation of the two curves.
This is an example of creating an M-Code Graphical User Interface by hand coding, and it is rich in mathematics: Lissajous curves, parametric functions, derivatives of parametric curves, periodic functions, etc. More information is available at https://www.callmedrrob.com/?page_id=1706 on my web site.
