This entry contains a graphical user interface program for the design of a first-order controller in the forward path of a closed-loop control system. The tool designs the following controllers: Proportional, phase-lag, phase-lead, PD, PI, and PID controllers.
To run at the MATLAB command prompt, type
>> rldesigngui
The user can specify the plant and the feedback sensor transfer functions and select a controller. Upon selecting controller, e.g. the phase-lead controller, the user is prompted to enter the desired dominant closed-loop pole. The controller transfer function, and the compensated open loop and closed loop transfer functions are obtained. By pressing the Compensated System Responses Button various responses can be obtained.
