Android sensor data acquisition - accelerometer example

Count steps by capturing the acceleration data from a mobile device with a computer running MATLAB.

You are now following this Submission

This example shows how to capture the acceleration of an Android mobile device such as a mobile phone or tablet. The acceleration is a three dimensional quantity representing the acceleration on each axis of the mobile device. The example shows how to access current values of acceleration and also demonstrates how to plot logged acceleration values. The data is then further analyzed in MATLAB to determine how many steps the person walked during the data collection period.

This example requires the user to first install the MATLAB Support Package for Android Sensors which is available here:

To use this example, you will also be required to download the mobile app: SensorUdp app by Takashi, Sasaki from Google Play.
