If you purchased the Matlab2014b that has a wonderful "Graphics smoothing to reduce the appearance of jagged lines option", but your graphics driver is out of date (opengl version is old like '1.1.0'), then you may enjoy the new graphic features by setting up the 'renderer'='painters'.
