This tool is an attempt at bridging the gap between relatively sophisticated LTI control design and ease of use. By formulating the control design problem as a non-linear optimization problem, the tool obtains parameters or solutions that force closed-loop system to meet specifications of settling time and damping ratio target. It is not limited to any one control structure.
