Brownian Dynamic Simulation to Determine Rheological Properties of FENE Dumbbell Suspensions
No License
The two programs perform Brownian Dynamic simulations to compute rheological properties of FENE dumbbell suspensions. When the applied flow is shear flow, we calculate the first and second normal stresses as well as the viscosity. For the case of an applied extensional flow, we obtain the value of the extensional viscosity. The user can easily change the values of the time step, shear and elongation rates. The values obtained by the programs are in agreement with the results found, using a FORTRAN 77 program, by H. Binous and R. J. Phillips, Dynamic Simulation of One and Two Particles Sedimenting in Viscoelastic Suspensions of FENE Dumbbells, Journal of Non-Newtonian Fluid Mechanics, Vol. 83, pp 93-130, 1999. Details about the governing equations and non-Newtonian fluids can be found in the above reference.
