This Matlab script computes the release of a solute from a spherical capsule using finite difference method in 1D.
This Matlab script computes the release of a solute from a spherical capsule using finite difference method in 1D and plots the concentration profiles.
Initial condition:
- The core is initially loaded with the solute,
- The membrane and the bulk are initially free from solute.
Boundary conditions:
- Continuity of both concentration and mass flux at the core/shell and shell/bulk interfaces,
- Zero mass flux (Neumann BCs) at the edge of the domain (r = Rb),
- Radial symmetry (Neumann BCs) at the capsule center (r = 0).
