Geunsik Lim has been working as a software engineer to research and develop commercial embedded devices and AI services at Samsung Electronics. Recently, he has been developing a mobile software platform's low-level system software to strengthen consumer electronics (CE) devices' product competitiveness. He has participated in Ottawa Linux Symposium (OLS), Linux.org.au (LCA), and IEEE conferences as a speaker and session chair to help the open-source ecosystem. Before that, he had engaged in UNIX/Linux core of advanced technology R&D work. He has worked with different kinds of system software to set up embedded devices like smartphones, tablets, digital TVs, and printers. He has been involved in a range of open-source projects, including Linux, GCC, Glibc, Android, and Tizen. He loves to use the Linux kernel and open-source software to help commercial embedded devices and solve technical problems. |

I am a Ph.D. candidate at UC San Diego, majoring in Aerospace Engineering, with a focus in astrodynamics and nonlinear state estimation. Co-advised by Dr. Thomas Bewley and Dr. Aaron Rosengren, I am currently pursuing research in the fields of uncertainty propagation and state estimation for artificial satellites in xGEO and deep space. I am a NASA Space Technology Graduate Research Opportunities Fellow, pursuing work in the field of uncertainty propagation for icy-moon missions with Dr. Todd Ely of JPL. In the summer of 2023, I interned at the Air Force Maui Optical and Supercomputing (AMOS) observatory as a part of the U.S. Air Force Research Lab Summer Faculty Fellowship Program. I graduated summa cum laude from the Colorado School of Mines with a B.S. in Engineering Physics, a minor in Robotics and Intelligent Systems, with an area of special interest in Space and Planetary Sciences. I am an Assistant Professor at KTH Stockholm in mechatronics with focus on robot design. My research interests are focused on the design, development, and control of autonomous robotic systems targeting interdisciplinary applications, ranging from soft and compliant robots for safe interactions, exoskeletons for motion assistance, to climbing robotic solutions for industrial inspection purposes. I have been involved in the creation, technical implementation, scientific or overall management of several European and National R&D projects, while my teaching experience involves mechatronics, robotics, industrial automation and control engineering courses. I have designed and taught multiple iterations of special studies on automatic control and bioinspired robotics, involving advanced applications of actuation design, implementation and control for undergraduate students. |

Dr. Badr Kaoui is a CNRS Associate Scientist at the Biomechanics and Bioengineering Laboratory (BMBI) of the Université de Technologie de Compiègne (France). His research activities fall into the areas of biophysics and complex fluids with applications in biomedical engineering. In particular, he is interested in studying biomedical systems that involve fluid-structure interaction and transport phenomena, such as, targeted drug delivery in the vascular system using drug-carrier particles. He uses and develops state-of-the-art numerical methods to perform multi-physics computer simulations. In the past, he contributed to study pattern formation (wrinkles and dendrites), dynamics and rheology of fluid-filled soft particles (capsules, vesicles and blood cells) and nanoparticles (nanofluids and their contribution to the stability of liquid-liquid interfaces). |
