Description
Quanser’s robotics lab collection brings together versatile manipulator and mobile platforms that support exceptional hands-on learning for students and provide researchers with powerful open-architecture systems for advanced robotics research. The collection is designed to support learning across departments and academic levels, from foundational robotics concepts to more advanced work in manipulation, mobility, perception, and intelligent systems.
Within this environment, QArm gives students direct experience with manipulator robotics through kinematics, motion planning, and vision-guided tasks, while the QBot Platform extends learning into autonomous mobile robotics with integrated sensing, localization, navigation, control, and onboard NVIDIA Jetson computing for embedded development. The platforms' open and flexible design also enables seamless integration with QArm Mini through a single USB connection for power and communication.
For a closer look at these platforms and their teaching and research resources, explore the QArm and QBot Platform pages.
This integrated workflow from design to validation is enabled by QUARC™, Quanser’s real-time control software library, which connects development based on Simulink with real-time execution, testing, and validation across Quanser control systems, robotics, and autonomous platforms. QUARC connects seamlessly with Simulink, allowing control algorithms designed in Simulink to be executed in real time on Quanser physical hardware or virtual environments. QUARC generates real-time code directly from Simulink models and enables rapid control prototyping without requiring low-level programming. Through external mode, users can tune parameters, monitor signals, and stream data live while the model runs. This integration bridges simulation and hardware, supporting workflows such as hardware-in-the-loop testing and real-time system validation.
