Create a MathWorks Account (Using a MATLAB portal)
Use your university email address to create a MathWorks Account to get started with your university’s Campus-Wide License for free. Your MathWorks Account will give you access to MATLAB®, Simulink®, and many other toolboxes. We will walk you through the different menu screens and options you will encounter. By the end of this video you will have a MathWorks Account.

Hello, my name is Alex Colón from the Customer Success Program here at MathWorks. Today, I will walk you through the steps needed to create a MathWorks Account using your school’s MATLAB portal.
This is what a portal may look like. The portal contains resources you have access to through your school’s Campus-Wide License. Getting access to your portal is simple. It is usually a top result when you enter your school’s name and MATLAB in a web search. You will also likely find it on your school’s software resource center. If you are unsuccessful searching online, you may want to reach out to the professors who requested you get access to MathWorks products for the link to the portal. If you run into issues or difficulties with any of the steps outlined in this video, MathWorks Customer Support is available to assist you.
Click on the blue “Sign in to get started” button located here.
From this page you have two options. If you already have a MathWorks Account created using your school email address, you can simply enter it in and click next to sign in. You may be prompted to sign in with your school specific credentials. Since you do not have a MathWorks Account, you can simply click on “Create one!” located here to proceed to the next step.
Use your academic email address for your MathWorks Account. And fill in the rest of the information on the page. When you are done, click on create to proceed to the next step.
Check your academic email for a verification email sent from MathWorks. If you do not see it right away, check your spam or junk folder. Click on the “verify your email” button located here to proceed to the next step.
Next finalize your account creation by providing all the information requested on the screen. Click on the blue “Create” button once everything has been entered.
Congratulations – you are done! You have been added to your school’s license and you will be brought to your MathWorks Account page. If you ran into any issues during the process, and you do not see this screen, then reach out to MathWorks Customer Support. Now that you are linked to your license and can start using MATLAB Online as well as start the installation process for MATLAB and other MathWorks products.
