Design of Cutting Edge Antennas and Antenna Arrays using MATLAB

The analysis and integration of antennas requires in-depth understanding of the physical properties of each element and the interaction between antennas embedded in an array. With Antenna Toolbox, you don’t need to be an expert in the electromagnetic domain: you can design an antenna in free space or in presence of different dielectric substrates; you can optimize the antenna impedance by iterating and finding the best position for the feed point; or you can develop beamforming algorithms taking into account edge effects and the coupling between array elements.

In this webinar, we will show how MATLAB and Antenna Toolbox can help you in designing antennas and antenna arrays, rapidly trying different configurations, and integrating them earlier at the system-level. We will demonstrate how you can easily compute port, surface and field characteristics of antennas and arrays of antennas, and optimize their properties to fulfill the desired specifications. Antenna Toolbox uses the method of moments (MoM) for full EM simulation to provide accurate results, and it is fully integrated in MATLAB.

This webinar will focus on advanced techniques describing how to design antennas beyond predefined elements by importing custom structures and defining conformal arrays.  We will estimate the impact of different dielectric substrates and interactively visualize results. Last, we will estimate the effects of antenna coupling within a beamforming communication system.
