Robot Motion Control with Integrated Encoder | Getting Started with VEX Robotics Using MATLAB and Simulink, Part 4

From the series: Getting Started with VEX Robotics Using MATLAB and Simulink

Gary Garber, BU Academy, Boston, MA

Learn to use Simulink® and Stateflow® to design autonomous pre-defined motion of a robot using Integrated Motor Encoders from VEX. The encoders can determine the number of complete and partial rotations that the robot wheels make during locomotion. In Simulink, the information for an encoder is used to navigate the robot forward by a desired distance. The same technique can be used to make the robot change its orientation as well. The same Simulink model can also be used with VEX optical shaft encoders.
