Preclinical PK/PD modeling with SimBiology

All models are wrong – but some are useful. Models of drug pharmacokinetics (what the body does to a drug) and drug pharmacodynamics (what a drug does to the body) are useful for the understanding, prediction and optimization of drug-body interactions early in the drug development cycle. This leads to more focused experimentation and saves time and money.

This webinar will introduce SimBiology and its capacities for supporting typical PK/PD modeling workflows. Using examples from the scientific literature, we will demonstrate:

  • SimBiology as an interactive and programmatic environment for building mechanistic and PK/PD models,
  • its capacity for data fitting and parameter estimation as well as parameter scans and sensitivity analysis,
  • automating analysis using the underlying MATLAB functionality,
  • and automatic report generation for tracking the progress of a project.

Target Group: Researchers and developers in preclinical PK/PD modeling as well as systems biologists in general. It is of special interest for people that would like to combine mechanistic (or systems biology) approaches with more classical PK/PD modeling.

Highlights:

  • Graphical mechanistic and PK/PD modeling
  • Easy access to sophisticated numerical analysis
  • Automating workflows
  • Automatic report generation
