Support Package for Renesas RH850 MCUs

Kick-start your embedded development on Renesas^® RH850 microcontrollers by using the Embedded Coder Support Package for Renesas RH850 Microcontrollers. This video series shows you how to use this support package to quickly deploy your Simulink® models to real hardware, eliminating manual coding, enabling early validation, and accelerating deployment.

Start by installing the hardware support package and setting up the hardware with the required third-party tools. Then, use Simulink library blocks included in the support package to quickly build and test applications on the Renesas RH850 MCU.

Learn to configure and use MCAL-based peripherals, including digital input/output (DIO), motor control timers such as Timer for Smart Gate Drive 3 (TSG3), and interrupts (CDD), to create responsive embedded applications. Apply these concepts through practical examples such as controlling onboard LEDs, reading switch inputs, and adjusting brightness.

Finally, verify your implementation by using processor-in-the-loop (PIL) testing. Run generated code on the target, compare results with simulation, and validate performance using both top-model and model-block PIL workflows.
