Using Activex and daq in a GUI

I am trying to create a plot (DQChart Control) in a gui that displays the real time data collected (DataqSdk Control). I am unfamiliar with all of the above and cannot get it to display any data at the moment. All I did was use guide to create an interface in which the two objects are found. Do I need to write a corresponding code in the .m file or should it be able to pick up the signal simply based on the properties defined in guide.
