Why does my compiled programme fail to run after some time?

I have a GUI application that I compile and distribute to various users around our building. I use Matlab 2012b on an institute-wide licence. After some time (a few months) the users start reporting that the application fails to launch. When they try to run it, the application process will start briefly and then exit before the GUI appears, no errors are output to the error.log. When this happens I find that all copies of the same build will also fail and I have to make and distribute a new build. This is obviously not an ideal situation.
Has anyone else experienced this? Is there some kind of time-bomb built into the compiler?? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks

I can just say there is no intentional behaviour in MATLAB Compiler that would make appliction unusable in such a way. As I have currently no ideas why that can happen, I write this as comment, not an answer.

I suggest calling Technical Support. For you in the UK the contact information is here: http://www.mathworks.co.uk/support/contact_us/?s_tid=sp_ban_cs
