change major unit on axis of plot

Hello,

I have a question about plotting graphs. How can I make changes to the major unit used on an axis, for example, I have a data set that contains a value for each quarter of an hour. So the x axis should use 0, 0.25, 0.5, 1, etc. and not 0, 1, 2, 3, etc. How can I do this?
