hyperion image with .L1R extension

I have a hyperion image with .L1R extension (it has .hdf file structure) and I am trying to read it. I have tried it with hdfread command but I can't manage it although I can apply this command any other hdf file (Aster image etc). Is there any one who can give any idea about it.
