Hi
I have an annual daily data set of 365 points which should be in different groups over the four seasons of the year. From the scatter graph I can distinguish these four groups but ofcourse this is not enough to be able to prove it. I would like to use the cluster function and output a scatter graph that illustrates these four groups. However from the Matlab help I cant see which of the many functions available for clustering is the one I need.
Thanks

Hi
Thanks for the advice, this seems to be exactly what I am looking for!
Can I edit this coding to produce a scatter diagram of the number of clusters I have in my data and not a silhoutte diagram?
Thanks again

You might want to try the gscatter() function, which plots according to groups. See the documentation for that function, and also the accepted answer here: http://www.mathworks.com/matlabcentral/answers/12980-graph-analysis-question
Also, you might want to "Accept" my answer, for the benefit of future users looking for this info. [And, note for the future that the "answer" you made would have been better placed as a comment to my answer.]

@Andrew: do not accept your own answer unless it is the complete/detailed solution and you formulated it independently.

I think the kmeans() function would be a simple one to start with. There is an example in the documentation that should help you.
