Hoe to get distance data in a specific zone?

I analyze mice running path with optimouse, and I would like to calculate the distance in a specific zone defined by myslef.
How do I run it?

If you have the positions, find the distance between the two successive points using distance formula.
You can sum all these distances to get the total distance.
