To measure torque using an "Ideal Torque Sensor," it must be connected in series. In the first image, the sensor appears to be connected in parallel but gives the correct reading because the gearbox is open, effectively placing the sensor in series.

The second image has an incorrect result in both the sensors because the generated torque is divided between the “Mechanical Rotational Reference” connected to the first sensor and the “Gear box”.

Connect the sensor in series, as shown in the image below, to get the correct reading.
