Geotif image appears darker

Hi,

when I load a Geotiff and show it using imshow, the image appears darker than when I view it on qgis. The following computations use the luminance content of each pixel, thus the final result are not acceptable due to the "darker" input image.

Can someone help me to understand?

Use geotiffread / readgeoraster and the plot the data. Read about pcolor to plot.
