How to make MATLAB R2014b save Current Folder layout between sessions?

I have recently acquired MATLAB R2014b. I have setup my environment layout to my preferences and saved it as a layout. When I close MATLAB and start it up again, my saved layout gets restored, so that everything is the way I like it. This is how things are supposed to work.
They do work, except for the 'Current Folder' layout. I'm not interested in 'Size', 'Type', and 'Description'. I remove them manually, save my layout, but on the next MATLAB launch, the fields are back. I am annoyed both by these fields and by the fact that when I disable them, they come back without asking.
I'm using MATLAB R2014b on a Ubuntu 14.04 LTS system. How do I save the 'Current Folder' layout between sessions?

I am on Mac OS X 10.10 (Yosemite), and my Current Folder layout persists from session to session.
You may want to report this as a bug.
