why does the error "the protected model XX was created with an incompatible version of slprj" occur, in Matlab 2017b, and with same version as the sender?

Hi,
I received a projected model from Customer, and found that the error below keep popping up.
The customer and I have an exact same version of Matlab '9.3.0.925396 (R2017b) Update 8'.
But don`t know why my computer keep popping up the error.
Customer checked by sending his colleagues and was ok with the version.
Is there anything else I should check beside the matlab version, to prevent the error?

Hi Wonjin,
This is a known issue in the older versions of MATLAB and the root cause is the version difference in the slprj folders. Since you mention that you and your customer have the same version of matlab, it might be that the slprj folder had been created from a different release or a different version of the model, and hence the incompatibility issue. You could try deleting the slprj folder and re-creating the protected model which should hopefully fix the issue.
Also, if you are using the protected model as a model reference, It is important that both the protected models and the model that references the protected model are created in the “exact” same versions of MATLAB.
This issue has been resolved in newer versions of MATLAB and you could try regenerating your model files in later versions.
Hope this helps!
