Anyone knows the syntax to insert a dot above a greek letter in matlab?

Wondering how would you insert a dot above a greek letter like gamma dot? Thanks

Using it in ylabel here, specify the 'latex' interpreter, with the appropriate LaTeX syntax:

ylabel('$\dot{\gamma}$', 'Interpreter','latex')

@aamir: give it a try! Surprisingly, you will not break your computer by experimenting with LaTeX syntax.

ylabel('$\eta \dot{\gamma} \eta'' (\omega)$', 'Interpreter','latex')

@Stephen @Star Strider -This craks me up!....... so many of you CS, CSE guys/gals have huge egos, never slow to put someone in their place or school some novice on how ignorant they are. I can see why @aamir is asking you to rewrite the syntax in the specific context in which he wants to call it,..... without thinking he's looking for a personal secretary. @John Barrett — Part of the purpose of MATLAB Answers is to encourage people to ‘learn how to learn’ on their own by experimenting, at least as I see it, although I understand that other people may have different opinions in that regard. I am not a ‘CS,CSE guy’, being instead a Board Certified Internal Medicine Physician and M.S. Biomedical Engineer (now retired). People do not become competent physicians or engineers if they do not learn how to solve problems on their own.

As Sir William Osler wrote, ‘To have a patient and not read is to sail an uncharted sea. To read without a patient is never to sail at all.’ MATLAB is richly documented, so with respect to MATLAB coding, read the documentation and experiment with your code! That’s the only sure way to learn. Rest assured that the world willl not come to an end if your MATLAB code throws an error.

You could experment to see if \mathrm is good enough for your purposes.

Note: \mathsf did not work for me on my Mac, telling me that Font cmss10 is not supported. I see posts from Windows users who had the same problem; there was a 2018 post showing which font had to be installed where.

right click on the text box in matlab plot select interpreter as latex $\dot{m}$

put a greek name \alpha in place of 'm' in above comment

That would give you a dot above a regular letter, not above a greek letter.

right click on textbox - change interpreter into latex - write this $\dot{\alpha}$ in text box - this gives dot above alpha. I double checked this one and it's correct both for regular letter and greek letter. for greek letter you have to use \alpha, \beta, \gamma for example $\dot{\beta}$ $\dot{\gamma}$ $\dot{\delta}$ etc
